Start your Day off Right

Songbird
Rebecca’s favorite breakfast spot! Chris, the owner and chef, is an actual angel. She brings her love out through her food, and so so many people have been brought joy through what started with a sandwich. Order the whole menu!!!
-
The Mud House
A quintessential STL breakfast spot. The charm is oozing out of the walls, and the food is simple but comforting. The line moves fast if you see it swing out the door, and make sure to grab a patio spot if it is nice.

Southwest Diner
SOPAS FOR BREAKFAST FOREVER!!! TexMex in an old bank for breakfast every day!!! A bit of a wait to get a table? They encourage wait-time imbibing so head to the bar and grab a hot coffee with a splash of whatever gets you through your day.
-
Gooseberries
Some of the best vegan and vegetarian food comes from the little kitchen at Gooseberries. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and post-drinks so there really isn’t a reason not to check it out. Expect a bit of a delay for the food to make its way out, but it is beyond worth the wait! Always say yes to any of the homemade hot sauces.

Uncle Bill's Pancake & Dinner House
Okay, so St. Louis is an extremely German city because of some brewers that showed up, said “by golly it looks like home!” and proceeded to make magic elixir in the caves. Fast forward a bit and add everyone’s 1960s German grandparents to the mix setting up a then-swanky restaurant to bring their families to. Now a breakfast destination for early birds and post-last call, Uncle Bill’s provides the sustenance you need.

Courtesy Diner
If you have ever been drunk or hungover in St. Louis, you have found yourself at Courtesy Diner. Do order the Slinger. Do not use the basement bathroom at the Kingshighway location (This was written prior to the demise of the Kingshighway location. :( RIP savior of many a drunk evening.) The Hampton location is still awesome.
